What is the current problem?
Startups and innovators don’t have a quick way to validate and iterate on their product ideas in the initial stage. They spend several months and large amounts of money on idea and market validation
What are we pitching?
AI-powered idea validation tool that uses machine learning to objectively analyze them and help innovators make informed decisions about which ideas to pursue, by providing predictions and personalized recommendations based on market-validated data and upcoming trends too.
How did we get here?
It was the middle of a hackathon, and the team had been brainstorming potential startup ideas for hours!! We had dozens of ideas written on sticky notes plastered all over the wall, but we were struggling to narrow down our options and decide which idea to pursue.
As we looked around the room, we noticed that other teams were facing the same problem and spending too long to decide a direction to pursue.
That's when it hit us!
What if we could use technology to help solve this problem? What if we could develop an AI tool that could analyze market trends, customer needs, funding activity, and team skills to provide personalized recommendations for which startup ideas had the most potential for success?
Where do we come in?
According to our user research, most users felt unsure about their ideas in the first half of the double diamond process for innovation. The research phase came across as a fuzzy one which called for the need for more clarity that facilitated better decision making.
In this ideation phase, users seek nudges through specific points of data to facilitate further progress. This tool helps keep the momentum going in the ideation phase, the lack of which turned out to be one of the most common roadblocks in the innovation process.
We aim to provide our users analyzed data, which they seek, that could facilitate their progress.
Final Problem Statement
How might we create a way to quickly validate your initial idea as early in the innovation process as possible?
Introducing...
We are
How?
What kind of data are we collecting?
Based on user research, the three core areas idea pitches were the most curious about in the initial phase was the success rate, competition out there and un-discovered gaps that could become an idea's key advantage.
Hence, Bounceboard gives you insights in those 3 areas first.
What does our model look like?
Let's try it out!
Reflection
If I had more time…
I would have dived deeper into the researching and defining better the data points that users seek - I'd validate these though mixed-methods of research.
My biggest challenge was…
Designing a platform that facilitates decision making but also finding constantly making sure the autonomy in decision making lies i the hand so of the use itself.
My biggest takeaway was…
It's extremely important to deep dive into research and keep going till every member on the team is convinced with the problem area or existent gap atleast.
Sometimes that most needed solutions are for very common gaps that we tend to ignore cause we're used to existent patterns.
